CMRT 5.0: Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative Releases New Version

The Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI) has released the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) Version 5.0.

The CMRT is the industry-standard template for companies required to perform conflict minerals due diligence under regulations like the Dodd-Frank Act Section 1502 and the EU conflict mineral rule. It helps companies deliver accurate information to their customers about mineral country of origin, smelters and refiners.

  • Corrections to all bugs and errors
  • Conformance with IPC-1755 in the wording of the following questions: 1, 2, 5, A, F, I
  • Conformance with IPC-1755 usage of ASCII character set for Standard Smelter Name in hidden Column R on the Smelter List
  • Removal of Question G
    • Additions and clarifications in the instructions and definitions
    • Update to ISO short names for countries
  • Addition of ISO Country Codes and State/Province Codes in hidden columns S and T on the Smelter List
  • Renaming of “Smelter Reference List” to “Smelter Look-Up”
  • Updates to translations for all modified text
  • Updates to the “Smelter Look-Up List” and “Standard Smelter List”
