2016 Top 100 Conflict Mineral Influence Leaders List Released

Each year, hundreds of compliance specialists, corporate executives, government officials, NGO workers and reporters work tirelessly to shape supply chain excellence through their industry influence.

Today, Assent Compliance is pleased to release the 2016 Top 100 Conflict Mineral Influence Leaders list and recognize those individuals who are leading the way.

The list was curated by independent researcher Lucas Taylor, MBA (Notre Dame) of LDT Consulting. Nominations were accepted for the first time in the list’s history. This process was an outstanding success, with over 50 nominations received and over 3,000 votes counted for outstanding influencers in the space.

Key influence indicators for 2016 were:

  • The advancement of EU conflict mineral legislation
  • Dr. Chris Bayer’s Conflict Mineral Benchmarking Study
  • Participation in industry conferences, such as those held by Marcus Evans, MAPI, CFSI and AIAG
  • General participation in the ongoing conflict mineral dialog in the media

Each one of these Top 100 has made, and continues to make, significant contributions to the improvement of conflict mineral supply chain transparency, whether it be through corporate social responsibility initiatives or directly at the ground level. Some act as consultants for companies looking to comply with Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act, and still others have dedicated their time to educating suppliers on ethical sourcing methods and motivations.
